Below are symbols from Spying and Hobo Signs class in the Moon Tree.

During the 'Great Depression' in America, people who were out-of-work would jump on trains to travel across the country looking for jobs. They would often leave symbols on the rails for those traveling after them. It was an early form of graffiti, but with the purpose of warning travelers of dangers and informing them of kind strangers.

Moon Tree students take a class called "Spying and Hobo Signs" and learn some of these "Hobo" symbols.

Can you guess what each of these three signs mean?

Click on this sign to find out what it means. Is this symbol a warning or where to get help? What is the meaning of this sign?

Click on each hobo sign to see if you have guessed correctly.

Last year this web site was hit by a spy bot. They stole this site's email address and used it to send out Spam e-mail. Sheryl was alerted when she began receiving Spam from her own site. The only way to avoid this from happening again, is by not giving a direct 'click-able' link for e-mail. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are sure you would not want more Spam out there.
