Life inside the Full Moon Tree

When the brothers arrive at the Full Moon tree, their dilemma is, how to enter. Are they going to build a tree house to live in? Can they squeeze into the center of the grouping of trees and live there?


They have to find the right knothole, ask permission, and they have to be V-E-R-Y small. They are shocked to learn they are to be shrunk so that they may enter the inside of the hollowed out tree. It is not a very comfortable process but it is a wonder when they get to enter the tree.

A winding stairway, which snakes from the floor to the top of the tree, is carved into the wall. Individual stairways cross the tree in all directions, and at many levels.

A continuing relief diorama of the history of the world runs from floor to ceiling also. It is carved into the walls of the tree, starting with 48,000 BCE when the Neanderthal became extinct. It is used to remind them of their past and to teach history to the students, so they can learn from the past. Their history, as most versions do, illustrate their side of the story.

Some classes are held outdoors and a few underground. Most classes are held in the tree. There are also dorms, teacher's quarters, a library and a war room.
