The Home page of Alrick - The Protagonist of our story
Hi! I'm Alrick.
I am twelve years old and I am really happy to be in the Moon Tree.
I have never attended school, and did not learn to write when I was little, but the classes here in the Moon Tree
are good for me. I do really well in the classes like battle swords and swimming, but reading is a struggle because, they say, I am trying to learn too late in my life. Gee, you would think I
was old or something! I love all the outdoor classes.
I have always been kind of alone, even though I have a lot of brothers and sisters. I've also spent a lot of time outside, even
at night. So, I have gotten into trouble here a few times for sneaking out in the middle of the night. The thing is,
I am used to taking care of myself, so when I know something needs to be done, or needs to be found out, I just go out
and do it, no matter what time of day or night.
My best friends, beside my brothers, are Emily and Dwayne. Dwayne is African American and has lived here for a long time.
He's really smart but doesn't do well in the battle classes or any physical stuff. He helps me with the academics and I help
him learn not to be so afraid. He has burns on his arms from his dad's cigarettes.
I met Emily at the Western Shift. She's been in this world since she was two. She's great at camouflage and she is good at
fencing. I'm glad she's on my team when we play VESCOM.
Well, gotta go. I hope you will join me on my adventure. After years of being mostly alone, I love making new friends.
Oh, I almost forgot. Sitting on my shoulder is Brina, a goblin-house fairy. She can be kind of crabby but I'm sure glad
she helped me to come here, with her friend, the Black-Dragon man. He's actually the Counselor here. My other small friend
is Ellery. He's my Aassahke. That's a Crow Indian word for uncle or big brother. He's actually a Pixie and is as small as
Brina is, but he's a lot more fun.
